Job Summary:

The Creative Director is a key leadership role responsible for guiding the creative vision and direction of Pomona Valley Pride. This position involves leading and supporting a talented team of individuals that support design, artistic creation, writing, and other creative development opportunities to innovate and impact visual and conceptual solutions. The Creative Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the creative output aligns with the organization’s brand identity, marketing objectives, and overall strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Creative Strategy & Vision:

    • Develop and articulate the overall creative vision and strategy for the organization, aligning it with the brand identity and organizational objectives.

    • Lead brainstorming sessions and concept development, ensuring innovative and cutting-edge ideas that differentiate the organization in the market.

    • Maintain a cohesive visual and thematic style for projects and campaigns.

    • Creating and implementing tailored marketing plans based on individual department needs. 

  2. Team Leadership & Management:

    • Mentor, and manage a diverse team of creative professionals, fostering a collaborative and inspiring work environment.

    • Provide clear direction, constructive feedback, and professional development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and creativity.

    • Supervising the department's daily workflow, assigning project workloads, and monitoring deadlines and expected deliverables.

  3. Brand Management:

    • Oversee the consistent application of the brand identity across all creative materials, ensuring alignment with the organization's values and messaging.

    • Collaborate with marketing and communication teams to develop compelling and cohesive brand campaigns that resonate with the target audience.

    • Heading brand campaigns, including submitting ideas for projects and overseeing the development of all creative content.

    • Ensures creative assets are uploaded to the team drive for easy accessibility.

  4. Creative Production:

    • Direct and support the development of creative assets for various channels, including digital, print, video, social media, newsletters, and events.

    • Review and approve designs, artwork, and copy developed by the team, ensuring high quality and adherence to brand guidelines.

  5. Client Collaboration:

    • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their creative needs and objectives, translating them into effective visual communication strategies.

    • Present creative concepts and designs to clients, articulating the rationale behind the proposed solutions.

  6. Trend Analysis and Innovation:

    • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and creative tools, incorporating innovative ideas into the company's creative projects as relevant to role of Creative Director.  Trainings and professional development is contingent upon available funding.

    • Encourage experimentation and exploration of new techniques and approaches within the creative team.

  7. Budget Management:

    • Work with departments to determine budgets for advertising, allocating resources effectively and ensuring projects are completed within budgetary constraints.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Multi-Media, Fine Arts, Marketing, Social Media or related field or 4 years of experience in a creative leadership role, preferably in an advertising agency, marketing firm, or in-house creative department.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of creative projects, demonstrating expertise in visual design, branding, and multimedia campaigns.

  • Proficiency in industry-standard software (Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, etc.).

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of market trends and consumer behavior.
